Is the visible wound in a concealed spot?
Does the wound involve blood on his clothes?
Is it on his back?
On his leg? |

It is unimportant where it is, but in every case it is a inconspicuous wound, you would have seen it, if you knew they were there.
No blood.
Neither on his back, nor on his leg. |

Is the skin pierced?
Is a bone broken?
Has he been poisoned?
Could he have gotten the same wound outside of the taxi? |

A yes! Wohoo! :)
So he has been accidently poisoned?
Was the poison in the taxi?
Did the man "bring" the poison?
Was the poison in liquid form?
Hmmm, pondering why I didn't get a straight no for the pierced skin... |

Accidently - yes.
Don't think too much about "poison" - it may bring you on the *woodway*
But yes, there was somting unhealty in the taxi.
The man brought no poison.
Maybe I am not so good in englisch, I identified "pierced" as "durchstochen".
And I don't think, that "durchstochen" is the right expression. |

Ok, yeah you're right - I didn't mean pierced, I just meant, if the skin was broken anywhere and the poison came in through the skin (rather than through the mouth, for instance).
Hmm, ok - did he suffer from blood poisoning, like from a rusty nail or so?
Did he sit on something that killed him in the end?
Hmm... but that wouldn't be murder, it would be "fahrlässige Tötung"... |

We can agree about "the poison came in through the skin"
I can not totally agree about "blood poisoning".
No rusty nails at all.
Sit on something - maybe, this is not so important.
I wrote "sort of murdered"
*gg*
But you are on a good way. |

sort of murdered, sort of murdered - I'm glad you're not sitting on a Jury! *grumble*... :D
Okaaay.
He was sort of murdered,
he has sort of blood poisioning
and he sort of sat on something, but not really, and it doesn't matter anyway.
So far so good?
Hmmm....
The thing that killed him, is that usually used to kill people? |

Yes - sort of very good.
*gg*
That thing is not walking around and killing people, normally. *gg* |

Hmmm... is the thing that killed him not a thing at all?
Apart from the driver and the victim - was there another person in the taxi? |

Let me start with the easier question: no other person.
What is a thing?
If a rose is a thing, then a thing is a thing is a thing.
But this thing is no rose, because it can walk around, if it likes to.
Still hoping that my bad english helps me to confuse you.

A thing is something that is not alive.
A rose is not a thing.
A robot (which can walk and maybe talk) is a thing.
So, is the thing that killed him a thing or not? ;) |

From your definition:
It is not a thing. |

is it an animal? Or parts of an animal?
is it a plant? Or parts of a plant? |
