Ringo Starr? Pffft. Isn't that one of the Beatles?
Christopher Lee refuses to do the long journey to NZ. Of course, if they could just do some bluescreen shots in Warner's London studios, who knows?
Johnny Depp as Bard? Hm ... maybe imaginable for the part itself, but I doubt it. Too expensive. And I'd always see Captain Jack. |

Michael Caine is an british actor and played a lot of roles, especially films concerning WW II, but also with the Muppets (Mr Scrooge in a Christmas Caroll), drama (Little Voice), comedy (Sherlock Holmes in "Without a Clue", together with Ben Kingsley) and finally Captain Nemo (not the classical one with Michael Douglas).
Ringo played in the "Magic Christian" and together with Peter Sellers in "Come and Get it" (I think, that this was the titel of the movie), as well in "Thomas and Friends" as "Mr Conductor" - just to mention the best known movies.
Pfft! Johnny Depp is more than only Captain Jack. |

Ah, thanks, even if I don't know any of these films. And I know Johnny only as Captain Jack Sparrow, so for me that connection comes naturally. |

Ah, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is at least a case where I know the book. Maybe I should get the movie one day, the book was rather nice.
The second title reminds me of the nickname of Miramax-boss Harvey Weinstein, aka Harvey Scissorhands :D |

There's also - very funny - Once upon a time in Mexico and this film about a writer who is schizophrenic, I forgot the title... quite scary and disturbing and brilliant acting on the Depp part. And didn't he also play in Secret Garden? And then some other fantasy film I really wanted to see but never got round to.. ah, if I could only remember the titles!

Try IMDB. Um ... why are we talking the whole time about the one guy who is *not* in the cast? O:-)
Does one of you know Armitage? He's definitely the most controversial of the whole lot. Most would rather see him as Bard than Thorin. |

Ed Wood is a Burton-movie, but you meant another film.
I saw it (or better, I saw parts of it) last summer in TV.
Sorry, I can't remember the name, Depp was a writer and got caught in his own stories, as fas as I got the plot. |

I think they are already filming, but I haven't been much on TORn lately and need to catch up a lot, sorry. At least I didn't hear about any big problems, so I hope now there's peace in the NZ studios. |

One good news: Hugo Weaving is back! While I didn't completely agree with his portrayal of Elrond, I still want him back for continuity's sake. It would be so weird to have another Lord of Imladris in the same surroundings interacting with Mithrandir. |

I went to my local library today to return some books. What did I see in the reserved shelf - The Hobbit! I couldn't believe it - all the other new-out-this-year films took months and months to get to me (reserved space 187 and so on...) - either they have loads of copies, everyone's already seen it or no one's bothered. :)
Anyway - movie time tonight! (and just in time - due to Nano I have a self-induced movie-ban for November...) |
